McCREA WELCOMES FIFTH ROUND OF COLD WEATHER PAYMENTS

DUP Mid Ulster MLA Ian McCrea has welcomed the announcement by the DSD Minister that a fifth round of Cold Weather Payments is to be made to qualifying customers in some parts of Northern Ireland.

Speaking today Mr McCrea said:

“I welcome the latest instalment of cold weather payments which will provide a further £25 to those customers who qualify and are living in the affected postcode areas.  The postcode areas affected are BT24-28, 30-35, 45-48, 60-71, 74-82 and 92-94. This payment will be paid automatically to those qualifying and should be received by 03 March 2010.

This is yet another chilly reminder that we are not out of the grips of winter yet and I trust that this payment will aid those most vulnerable in our community with their heating costs.”
